Disco & Mitch have been best friends since high school, when they pooled their savings and purchased the car of their dreams, the legendary 1976 Datsun 280Z.

But High school was more than 10 years ago, and it’s easily been five years since Disco & Mitch were last in their home town; when they fixed a baseball game, double crossed a whole bunch of people and were forced to make a run for it.

They have suddenly reappeared in the town driving their signature sports car and making questionable moves.
Having had no contact with any of the people they owe money to, the twosome keep a very low profile as they discretely meet people and loiter in diners; all of which arises the suspicion of the town’s local bookmakers.

Fearing a repeat of their last performance, Disco & Mitch decide it’s best to beat a hasty retreat and to try again when the town cools off a little. It’s a brilliant plan, too bad their Z won’t start.

Sex, Love & Z-Parts is a cinematic experiment that utilizes the cinematic and semiotic codes to illustrate the uniqueness of generation X. The film is imbued with plot mechanisms and visual style that is highly reflective of the present media culture.

This film differs in its trajectory and mood from its peer set. As a noir film it is dark and murky with quintessential characters and social commentary that is at times biting.

Relying on the time-tested caper narrative used in a biracial buddy film backdrop, Sex, Love & Z-Parts takes you to places you have never been in vehicles that you know well. Juxtaposition is the name of the game as you explore the last days of two desperate Gen-X’ers.

Sex, Love & Z-Parts is the journey of two down-on-their-luck guys who just don’t know when to say when. Their last great victory is quickly becoming their last great defeat; will they be able to read the writing on the wall fast enough?
